Information on the German Battery Act & disposal

Notice pursuant to the German Battery Act (BattG)

1. Obligation to return and dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries

Under the German Battery Act (BattG), you as the end user are legally obliged to dispose of used batteries and rechargeable batteries in an environmentally sound manner.

 You can return used batteries and rechargeable batteries free of charge:

• At municipal collection points or recycling centers
• At local retailers (retailers are obliged to take them back)
• To us: you can return all batteries and rechargeable batteries that we currently carry or have carried in our range to our shipping address free of charge, or hand them in to us directly.

Please note: batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste!

 2. What the battery markings mean

Many batteries and rechargeable batteries carry symbols that indicate the harmful substances they contain:

♻️ Crossed-out wheeled bin = the battery must not be put in household waste

The following chemical symbols may also appear:

• Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury
• Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium
• Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead

These substances can be harmful to health and the environment and must therefore be disposed of properly.

3. Our registration under the German Battery Act (BattG)

Under the German Battery Act, we are registered with Stiftung EAR (Elektro-Altgeräte Register, the German national register for waste electrical equipment). Our battery registration number is: DE 74589262

 In this way, we meet our legal obligations for the proper take-back and disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries.
