Questions and answers about DynaVap
Answered briefly and honestly – straight from customer service.
How does a DynaVap work?
A DynaVap works without a battery and without electronics. You fill the chamber, put the cap on and heat it with a jet lighter or an induction heater until it clicks – that is the vaporizing temperature. After the second click the temperature has dropped again: you can reheat or empty the chamber. How dense the vapor gets is up to where you apply the heat and how you use the kick hole.
Which DynaVap is right for beginners?
The B and the B2 Stealth were designed with beginners in mind: the silicone stem sits well in the hand and the 10 mm mouthpiece fits water filters. The G3 consists of only two parts and comes with an unfilled jet lighter and a tin. If you want everything at once, take the M7 starter set with a DynaStash, a jet lighter (unfilled) and maintenance parts. Every DynaVap takes a little practice, but you will get the hang of it quickly.
Lighter or induction heater – which is better?
Both work: a jet lighter is cheap and small, and while heating you turn the DynaVap so the cap warms evenly. Jet lighters that come with a device are shipped unfilled for safety reasons. An induction heater such as the Ispire The Wand heats without an open flame, has swappable batteries and charges via USB-C – which makes it far more comfortable to use. Not suitable for induction: the G3 (glass body) and the Thermal Hyper Cap with sapphire balls.
What is the difference between the M7 and the M7 XL?
The M7 XL is a slightly longer version of the M7. The longer vapor path makes the vapor a little cooler. Both share the chamber of approx. 0.1 g, which can be halved, and around 20 percent less heat towards the mouthpiece. The M7 XL also comes as a stealth version with tip, stem and mouthpiece made of titanium – lighter, with a dark finish.
How much fits into the chamber?
The M7 and M7 XL hold approx. 0.1 g, the B2 Stealth approx. 0.075 g and the G3 approx. 0.05 g. The HyperDyn is built for larger loads and takes up to approx. 0.25 g. On models with Adjust-a-Bowl, such as the M7, M7 XL and VonG X, you can halve the chamber for smaller amounts.
Can I use a DynaVap with a water filter?
Yes. The VonG X and HyperDyn fit 10 and 14 mm joints, The B and the B2 Stealth have a 10 mm mouthpiece. For the other models there is the Bonger, a silicone adapter with a stainless steel condenser for 10 and 14 mm. For travel there is the small Circle Bubbler by Vapotools by 157Grad, which takes the DynaVap tip directly.
How do I clean my DynaVap?
Once everything has cooled down, scrape the herb residue out of the chamber with the tip of the cap. The glass body of the G3 and dosing capsules can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol and rinsed with water afterwards; clean the condenser with pipe cleaners. Keep the O-rings supple with a little DynaWax. Spare O-rings, screens and the DynaKit are in this category.
What do other caps such as Low Temp or BallR do?
The Low Temp Captive Cap already clicks at approx. 190–200 °C: a little more flavor, but thinner vapor. The BallR Cap is filled with stainless steel balls and finely perforated at the tip, so hot air is drawn through the herbs – convection instead of pure conduction. It is longer than the standard cap, which is why it does not fit every storage case and does not fit the HyperDyn. The HyperDyn has its own caps, such as the Hyper Cap.
What sets the stealth models apart from the regular DynaVaps?
The stealth models – M7 XL Stealth, VonG X Stealth and B2 Stealth – have titanium parts with the dark DuraDyn® stealth finish and a PVD-coated captive cap. That makes them look darker and makes them particularly hard-wearing; they also come with a stealth tin case and a silicone insert. Frequent heating can change the color of the PVD cap, which does not affect how it works.
